Chris Jericho will be the host of Fuse's new reality show, Redemption Song, which premieres tomorrow at 11 p.m.
"I'm very excited. It turned out to be a great show," Jericho told WWE.com.
Jericho, who's not only known as a Raw Superstar, but also as the lead singer of the band Fozzy, and a New York Times best selling author, can add reality show host to his list of accolades. Jericho, who has been in the entertainment industry for 18 years, will be there as 11 female singers work to overcome their rough pasts and compete for a record deal with Fuse/Geffen Records in the hopes of becoming the next great musical star.
"It's about these 11 girls who are all great singers, but the twist is they all have had some problems in their pasts – drug problems, alcohol problems, bad upbringings – they're kind of bad girls. And this is their chance for redemption, their chance to leave their pasts behind and embrace this new future."
On the show's premiere episode, Ready to Rock, the contestants are tested in their first challenge and rapper and MTV's Buzzin' star, Shwayze, pays a visit.
"It's very entertaining. Obviously you get the controversy and the conflict and the arguments or whatever, but once the contestants started realizing how important this was, you start to see a lot of changes in what was going on with their behavior," Jericho explained.
"You start to see them shooting for the stars and wanting to win this thing. It's not just about the contract; it's about changing their lives and becoming better people. That's what I really liked about it," Jericho said.
